Lake Ray Hubbard

One of the largest recreational lakes in Texas sits in Garland’s backyard. Lake Ray Hubbard spans 21,000 acres and is ideal for aquatic sports as well as sunbathing on the shoreline.

At John Paul Jones Park, guests can spend a lazy day fishing from one of the three piers or enjoy the outdoors on the half-mile paved trail along the lake. Picnic areas and tables are also available for fun day gatherings or a day of grilling on the lake with your favorites.

The expert angler will also be happy to learn that the predominant fish species on the lake include white and hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, channel, and blue catfish, and white crappie. Lately the most abundant sport fish on Lake Ray Hubbard are hybrid striped bass and blue catfish.

Boat enthusiasts ready to enjoy a day of water recreation can access the lake via Bass Pro Shops docks or through the Chaha Ramp at John Paul Jones Park.

Can you hear lake life calling?  Lake Ray Hubbard is ready to make memories with you.
